About MiniSplit Calc
Mini-split sizing advice online is mostly a flat "20 BTU per square foot" line wrapped in affiliate links, and spec comparisons routinely copy each other's errors. This site does two narrow things properly:
- Sizing. The calculator implements the public ENERGY STAR sizing chart plus its quoted adjustments, with our few added rules of thumb explicitly labeled as such. The full math is on the methodology page.
- Specs. Every model in the directory was verified against a live manufacturer or authorized-dealer page, with the source URL and verification date stored per model. If a spec couldn't be verified, the field shows "—". If a whole brand couldn't be verified, it isn't listed.
What this site is not
- Not a substitute for an ACCA Manual J load calculation or a licensed installer's judgment.
- Not a review site — we publish no opinions about reliability we can't source, and no testimonials.
- Not exhaustive — fewer verified models beats many invented ones.
Found a spec that's gone stale? The source link in every row makes it easy to check — and easy for us to fix on the next data refresh.
